After updating ATI mobility radeon 5000 series driver, screen went blank.

Original Title: after installing an AMD driver (ATI mobility radeon 5000 series)
I am using a HP pavilion dv6 notebook.
It came with windows 7.
I updated it to a windows 8 and after that the ATI mobility radeon 5000 series driver stopped working, so I installed a new one and restarted my system.
The start-up reached the enter your password
side and after entering my password my laptop screen went blank, but I found out that my system is still working because I could here the windows sound.
I connected the laptop to the TV and it displayed on the TV but the laptop screen is still blank, I removed
the connection to the TV and it is still the same thing.
Please help!!!
